November 4.

Eye update: I met with the retina specialist here in LA today who comes very highly recommended by many. I won't belabor the small details, but it is a good outcome. He confirmed that there is no detachment and no additional hemorrhaging seems to have happened as the blood that is built up in the retina is "old." He will clean out the blood during day surgery on Nov 15th (temporary date...will be confirmed next week) and then be able to see what the reason for it was. I had a small retinal tear a year ago that was immediately lasered and may be the cause of it. Again, I won't belabor the details but it's not unusual and has nothing to do with the quality of that procedure.
It's highly unlikely that I will be face down and prone with a gas bubble inserted into the retina. For that I am very thankful but there is a 10% chance that I might be. I prefer to focus on the 90%.
Once the blood is eliminated, I will regain sight in that eye. For that I am also very grateful. And, I am very anxious to have two good eyes once again including depth perception and peripheral vision on the left side.
I will need to wait to determine if/when I return to Yap based on the likelihood of this happening again and the timing of follow-up exams with the doctor.
Onward to Nov 15 and, after that, a much anticipated Thanksgiving with friends here in LA. Many thanks to everyone for your support and good wishes.
